Companion planting -pair your favorite plants with a compatible mammal repelling plants . Mints, many herbs, Sage
Deer Resistant
Plant some of their favorite plants (these are plants humans have decided are weeds and do almost anything to keep them out of our yards. So without these favorites they tend to eat some of your favorite plants. So try planting these on your borders before they get to the plants you don't want them to eat(clover, dandelion greens, native grasses, crabgrass, kale , oats and rye).
Most mammals like to stay on the borders of your yard where there are shrubs, trees, tall grasses for them to hide quickly when necessary.
