Blooms are pink to purple with a pleasant light scent   Bloom time: June - August 

3-5ft H,  Spreads through rhizomes that form clones.

    underground stems of plants that allow the plant to spread and form large colonies.

    New milkweed plants that grow from seeds develop a deep taproot system

It is extremely hardy and will grow in almost all soil types  that are moist and well drained.  Rhizomes can be cut and transplanted early in the spring.  Fruit split open Sept-Oct exposing seeds

Attracts: Butterflies and is Larval Host plant for the Monarch Butterfly
