Sweet Pepperbush - Clethra alnifolia

Native Deciduous Shrub (also know as Summer sweet) 

Narrow 3-6 ft tall that spreads into mounded clumps.  A leafy shrub with multiple stems spike like clusters of fragrant white flowers Bloom late summer.  Golden Yellow Fall foliage,. Responds well to pruning.

Prefers: FS,PS,Shade  with Moist to wet soil (can be planted near the ocean as it is salt spray tolerant) 

This shrub forms sizable patches and is remarkably free of any disease, insect, or physiological problems. Its dry fruiting capsules remain long after flowering and help identify this plant in winter.
