Native perennial dainty little wildflower with white or bluish flowers with the yellow centers are striking in the late spring when the flowers carpet the ground brightening up a meadow, shady lawn, or woodland 3" high. Harvested from one of my pastures on my property where it grows wild in abundance along with woodland strawberry.
Prefers: Full Sun to part shade, with medium soil
The flowers grow out of small clumps and can be tucked between stepping stones, along the edge of a path, in old stumps, or in the space between the grass in thin lawns. Spreads through rhizomes and seeds. Long lived perennial.
Benefits: provides nectar and pollen for native bees, carpenter bees, sweat bees and some butterflies. Host plant: Spotted Thyris (Thyris Maculata) Moth larvae
