Lance-leaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis lanceolata )

Non-Native Perennial - although found in many MA gardens. Lance-leaf Coreopsis blooms brightly in late spring and early summer on sunny, even hot sites with dry, sandy or poor soil. The bright yellow, daisy-like flowers are about 1 1/2" in diameter and bloom on long stems. Promptly dead-head spent blossoms to prolong the bloom period.  If you know that you won't dead-head the spent blossoms, maybe you should skip this flower as it self seeds very aggressively (although not on MA invasive list).

Does well in a container on a deck as well as a garden.
