Lance Leaf/ Leaved Coreopsis -Coreopsis lanceolata

Non-Native Perennial - Native in US- VA South  blooms brightly in late spring -Fall. Commonly found in native plant seed mixes

Prefers:  Sun/PS/Shade, even hot sites with dry, sandy or poor soil.  Height: 2ft 

Benefits: Butterflies, Special value to native bees & predatory insects that prey on problem insects

The bright yellow, daisy-like flowers are about 1 1/2" in diameter and bloom on long stems. Promptly deadhead spent blooms to prolong the bloom period.  

Does well in a container on a deck as well as a garden.
