Native Perennial Deciduous Shrub that bears edible fruit, with lovely white flowers in April, May, June before the leaves appear and blue/purple plums in the summer that ripen from August to October and lovely fall foliage. Grows up to 6 ft tall.
It thrives in Full Sun with dry and sandy or gravelly soil
They are happy next to the hot dry south side of a building or on the edge of a parking lot or drive way. They are very low maintenance. For more plums you should always have at least two plants.
Benefits: Special value to Native Bees and food for birds and other wildlife
Dried leaves are toxic to livestock
Provenance Planted from seed in my nursery garden from my 2 existing trees that both were purchased from Native Plant Trust
