Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea)

Native to MA -Commonly used as a Christmas and ornamental tree.  This evergreen has dark, fragrant needles with good needle retention. Develops into a narrow dense pyramidal shape.  Produces cones every two to four years.  Grows about 1 ft per year and up to 50 ft tall and 20-25 ft wide at maturity.

Grows in Best Full Sun, Partial Sun,  to shade and cool moist Soil.  

Benefits:  Birds & squirrels eat the seeds. Mammals and birds. use it for shelter. Woodlands, riparian areas, swamps and marshes.
