This majestic deciduous hardwood tree is Native to MA & CT and parts of VT. Also goes by the name of Buttonwood. It is a fast grower and gets extremely large. Blooms March - April with Blooms that can be red, green, yellow or brown (since they are tall trees you may not have noticed its blooms before). Blooms turn to fruit for birds & mammals that are orange/brown in color. Provenance:: Grown from wild harvested seeds Pepperell, MA
Prefers: Sun/Part Sun/Shade, Moist sandy loam or silty clay
You can tap the tree in the spring for its sugary syrup( although sugar content is lower than maple).
Benefits: provides food and shelter to birds and mammals
Deer resistant
Now that they have been potted up , they will grow 3-6 feet per year
