Native to all New England States, Perennial flower grows up to 5ft High (prune it back in early in the season to encourage a shorter more bushy plant), Lovely Purple blooms from August-October.  Asters reseed very well, so if you do not want it to spread be sure to dead head and dispose (or share the seeds with other gardeners) before the seeds are ripe.

Prefers: Full to Part Sun, Wed-Med-Dry Soil (Drought Tolerant)

Benefits: Great fall color, attracts bees and butterflies while providing important nectar to Monarchs and other butterflies late into the fall when other flowers have passed. 
Larval host plant for the pearl crescent butterfly, and the Canadian conia moth. A specialist mining bee, collects pollen only from New England aster and related plants.
