Fairy gardens can be created to encourage a visit from fairies to help you with your gardening projects or sharing some magic making garden time with a child or the child in you. Building a whimsical wee world for fairies to frolic. You may also find it so relaxing that you may use it as your meditation/secret/happy place garden. There are many simple ways to create: tiny garden in a bowl, empty bird bath, a glass terrarium or outdoors in a secluded place in the garden. Anywhere that fairies will feel comfortable, safe, and can still be a part of the natural world.
Broken pots, logs, twigs & branches can be used as houses, caves or castles. Fragments of broken terracotta or bark chips can be used for steppingstones, bridges or stairways. Twigs can be broken down and glued together to create ladders, fences, bridges, swings and doorways. Pinecones for roofing slates acorns for mushrooms, pebbles will pave a road, stream bed or pathway, Moss can make grassy lawn or roof. Options are endless. It is best to try and use things from nature to help keep the mythical idea.
