Calendula - Calendula officinalis

Short lived Aromatic Herbaceous Edible Perennial although long blooming picture below taken 11/1/24, it is said to self seed (although I haven't experienced it, so I now harvest the seeds and replant.  The florets are edible in salads or in place of saffron, or in tea.  The leaves are edible although not very palatable.

Used in many herbal and medicinal formulations particularly skin care formulations.

Companion Plant: For tomatoes to repel tomato horn worm, Asparagus to repel asparagus beetle

Host Plant for:  gothic moth, large yellow underwing and setaceous Hebrew character.
